Eating Right: Your first step to a healthier lifestyle
Have you ever thought: Maybe it's time for me to change the way I eat? Well maybe the following tool could be helpful on your journey toward a healthier lifestyle.
We're always searching for creative ways to present information to young people - in the process we discovered the MyPyramid Programme - a great tool developed by US Department of Agriculture to encourage people to pay attention to the types of food they eat and their general health and wellbeing.
They've taken the food pyramid and made it interesting with this online calculator tool which you can find here: http://www.mypyramid.gov/mypyramid/index.aspx you can take your age and BMI information and have it estimate the amount of calories and what types of foods you should include for a balanced meal plan. The result is a nifty little printable PDF that you can use as a guideline. (Remember: This doesn't replace going to a qualified health advisor for a proper plan, it is just a guide and perhaps it will be as good as your mom's advice to cut down on all those cakes, colas and fats, haha).
Keeping you informed.
