On Saturday 21st May this year we'll be having a Bottomup Open Day, where  you'll have the opportunity to learn more about one of the schools we work in, what exactly we do and also have an opportunity to interact with some of the learners.

The open day will be held at Perivale Primary School (Corner of Klip Road & Zeekoe Road Lotus River) from 9am -11am.  You're welcome to attend - simply notify Ashley( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. On the day you will have a chance to hear more about the work of Bottomup and find out how you can get involved in assisting the schools.

There are many ways to get involved with the work of Bottomup, here is our wishlist for 2011:

• Volunteering your time to tutor (English Literacy, Afrikaans ,Literacy or Numeracy(Litnum))
• Volunteering an afternoon to assist with Chess/Netball/ or a sport you may like to offer
• Netball Poles & Vests (Lotus River Primary)
• Scholars Chess Sets (R75each from Mont Du Cap Games)
• Stationery for Learners
• Printing Paper (As much as we try to be environmentally friendly, classes & worksheets  for +- 800 learners/week  does use some paper)
• Photocopier Lease Sponsorship (having this in the office will mean we can complete prep work sooner)
• English & Afrikaans children's literature (fiction & non-fiction)

Donating Money :

• We'd like to employ additional staff: one for literacy/numeracy support & one to develop the creative arts/music)
• We're dependent on extra financial donations for the educational trips we organise , it costs about R3000 to take a grade of  learners on a trip and provide lunch.

Please remember that donations you make are tax-deductible (We're Section18A approved). If you represent a company and would like to give in that way, please send us your company logo to add to our website.
